Teddy, by date progression, do you mean movement in the Visa Bulletin priority date, or do you mean adjudication of GCs?

As you would imagine, I want you say dates are going to continue to move (my PD is July 2009).

Progression for now only means forward movement to have intake. GC issuance will be impacted by the bill only once it passes. If the passage is delayed the benefits of the bill will kind of show more prominently in approvals next year as ROW would have got additional numbers by then.

Thanks Teddy! My PD is July 2009, and I'm hoping it becomes current next month. A GC would be great...but an EAD would work equally well.

Good luck to all!

We don't and thats one of the biggest guesses. Due to the current EB3 backlog, the thought process is that a majority (70%) are applying in EB2. In the past, the split was closer to 50-50. or perhaps even 40-60.

Setting the category is of course not something people select - it is an outcome of the hiring process and the requirements for the job.

There are various factors, including demand destruction , that contribute to lower than anticipated EB2 485 filings.

Makes sense Teddy. Folks are predicting (in other popular forum...) that dates will move to late 2009 in the next bulletin. Some are even saying 2009 will move by in one VB.

Do you see any reason why this would not be the case? Considering the fact that 2009 has even fewer filings than 2008, they should move it more aggressively, right ?

I know man, I hear you! My PD is also July-09 and I just hope the intake is aggressive for the next couple of weeks (at least). My PERM has been re-filed this month and all I want is that if the PD was to reach july-09, it should stay there for a bit so that it does not retrogress before my PERM is approved and so I can file concurrently!

It will be interesting to see if the trend continues and CO goes for further intake in to end of 2009.

I am ready to jump on a plane and head to Washington if that helps gets the date to mid july 2009. I just hope it doesn't stall on July 01, 2009. I'd have missed the boat by far few dates!

Lets collectively pray to all the gods possible to give us a better future!

Default General Question regarding threads

How do one subscribe to a thread so you get update on that thread continuously?

I get updates every once in a while, but I think the subscription expires after a few hours.

I'd like to get updates on a regular basis. Is there a setting I can tweak in my profile to enable this?

That's the problem - everyone is worried about their PD's and GC's. So, you'll jump on a plane ONLY if it guarantees the PD moving past your PD. That's the issue right there.

smuggymba - please relax.

I was merely being melodramatic.

I am willing to travel to Washington DC if March 2010 becomes current as well.

On a serious note - If IV has an action item to meet in Washington DC to rally for HR 3012, I would do it.

I have been volunteering my time everyday, and have been in touch with IV Core..

My question was more on the lines of getting a rouhg etimate based on approved labor (where each pending case is either EB2 or EB3 or others category), I tried doing by PWC Wage from approved labor and that number was coming out to be approx 60-80% (80% for PWC as 60K 60% for 70K) and cases to be EB2.
