Dude..take it easy. Please read what the guy meant. He said that the dates stopping are better than the dates retrogressing. Surely, none of us want dates to retrogress...do we?

How does retrogression affect people? If you can't file while you're current, you're a moron anyway.

After years of waiting, can't people get their docs ready so that they can file when they're current. why do people miss the boat? Is there more to it? July 2007 fiasco doesn't happen everyday.

Just asking - what's the negative affect of retrogression? Why don't all people file when they're current and dying to get current every bulletin.

I know a guy who became current in Jan and will be travelling around Feb to middle east and he has already bought an open ticekt to come back to US for Biometrics.

Just out of curiosity - why don't ppl file when they're current or what stops them from filing? You can always prepare and send docs to the lawyer in advance.

OK before going all out with assumptions about how others are morons and you are not, how about this -- I am waiting for my new PERM through the new employer and hoping to capture my earlier PD based on approved 140. If my perm approval comes in before my PD (July 09) is current or even in the same month, then I should be able to file concurrently. But if not and the approval comes in the month following the one my PD got current, what should I do? Would I not wish for the dates moving past my PD and "at least" stopping there as opposed to retrogressing so I can file as soon as my PERM comes in?

Why are people so trigger-happy and start hurling accusations and calling names? Just wondering...so relax guys!

In consulting world, job scenario can change fast... and when you want to go for higher positions (or higher hourly rates) ... many a times you need to find new employer and restart GC process ... thats when people may miss the chance to file when dates get current... some may not be able to file to do marriage reasons... who knows all buddy....

Its not the question of anyone being trigger happy....its about having a broader vision and being considerate to all the others who are also bogged down by the backlog...You make it sound that it is ok to be selfish

If wishing is all we are doing y can't we wish that the PD moves past urs, mine and everybody else's until it is current for all "I" & "C"...thats what HR3012 is all about...its what IV is all about....

Pardon my language, but you Sir, are a dumbass!!! How many times have people jumped the gun without completely reading and understanding what was written..Still no one learns. You too jumped the gun.

Please go back and read what he had written.. ' Oh well, as long as the dates just "stop" and not retrogress, that would be a great sign! ' ...

It would be a great sign!!! Now go bash what great sign might be hiding in it's meaning!!

Regards,

Friendís looks like the upcoming VB could go either way; it is going to be based entirely on the agencies discretion.
Positives -
- Someone with a March 2008 PD got an actual appointment from the Mumbai consulate.
- NVC notices being received by mid to late 2009 PDís. - General news and rumors that dates will advance in Feb & Mar bulletins.
- HR 3012 passage likelihood or 2 year inventory theory.

2009 is the leanest of all years so anything is possible.
Negatives Ė
- Actual SOFAD maybe lower this year and may really range between 20 and 25K. Out of that a minimum of 10K has been used.
- Approvals for Oct filers have dried down, there were a couple of approvals for NSC filers. TSC no one seems to have been approved a few people reported misleading statuses.
- EB1, EB2 ROW and EB3 and older EB2 I/C approvals are coming by steadily these cases have sufficient numbers or may have had a cap number allocated earlier. This may be indicative of the fact that EB2 I/C have had a run further than the Nett generated SOFAD so far.
- Already 40K numbers are in this includes 30K intake and 10K usage at minimum.
Letís wait for the VB, all the best to everyone, I sincerely hope that the dream run continues and more and more people get to file EAD / AP.

Friends chill. Everyone should make the best efforts to file as soon as their dates become current. Some people do have genuine reasons like they changed employers and have to file again, some not married or in other cases spouse stuck in home country for stamping. Unlike in 2007 everyone's labor is approved so there is really nothing to wait for, the entire class of PWMB's including me are those who missed Jul 2007 because our labor went to Atlanta that was taking 3 months. Also if you are close I would say don't change jobs for some time and don't travel, this will be a boat not to miss. Since the intake is going to be so large the next boat may not come next year, the PWMBís have waited more than 4 years and no one would like to become the next generation PWMB.

Hey Teddy,

Remember moi?? Had send you a PM quite some time back regarding the dates .. Not good with numbers but lemme know if my reasoning is wrong

1. The huge date increase in Jan VB had been due to low demand ...
2. Holiday season for last couple of weeks / don't know if they can count and factor in early Jan applications .. so hopefully low demand would continue..
3. Actual lean year of 2009 ..

Not good with numbers, so won't quote anything .. but looking at above points am quite confident that the date movement for Feb VB would be same as Jan VB ..

Love me or Flame me ..

Peace!!!

Teddy, thanks for your reassuring email. I guess everyone needs to be patient and see what the VB brings for us all.

Regarding NVC receipts, I noticed you mentioned late 2009 PDs - how deep have the NVC fee receipts gone into 2009? Does "late" mean, November/December ?

GOOD LUCK to everyone!

I absolutely remember you. You were correct. Coming to your points for the Jan VB they could have seen the Nov filings only Oct + Nov is 10K. Dec and Jan are generally slow due to holidays but approvals have been steady, hopefully they will have an idea of Dec filings. Point 3 is really valid 2009 is the leanest of all years. he current situation is actually beyond numbers now it is todally at the discretionary level. So good luck to all.
