Teddy, when you say EVL, do you mean letter from your client (as I understand you're n E-V-C model).... or does EVL (to USCIS) mean letter from your employer (GC sponsorer)? How recent (dated) does EVL have to be?

I do not recollect submitting one while filing my AOS but I always did for my H1B filing (including extention) .... and in my case, I have yet to see any status on my AOS submission (waiting since late Oct and nothing yet)...

Obviously this did not work. Since he is the company attorney he would I don’t have any say and yes he may be working with my employer to delay things as much as possible.
How can the lawyer/employer try to delay things? ... I understand, it is possible once you receive a RFE, they take their sweet own time and then further on not submit documents as requested but that can lead to rejection which in turn, affect their reputation of the company as well as the law firm...

Or in the first place (before an RFE is initiated), how could the lawyer/employer affect GC processing time, apart from missing the cutoff date deadlines, just trying to understand how much and what control do they have to play such tricks?

How long does it take to get the physical RFC letter?
The status changed to RFE online on 2/15 Still waiting for the actual letter. Is there a way to find out what the RFC is about before getting the physical letter?
Thanks,
Dilber

Yes EVL is the employment verification letter from the sponsoring employer. Some attorneys have other ways around this but better to submit it as it is the filing instructions.

Lawyers who are primarily connected to the employer or directly paid by them would take care of the employer’s interests. In a way the employee getting a GC sooner is not in the employer / lawyers best interest in that case. However yes in general they should try to have a perfect application and timely filing. Consulting companies are set to lose people big time post GC approvals so yes some of the things can be faster if the companies like it to be that way. However in most cases people have been able to file and that is important sooner or later they will get GC. Only way employers and lawyers can delay is by not submitting proper documents in the first place or just delaying and procrastinating.

With the way things are going on everyone who is before Mar 15th 2008 i.e. Dec filers will get greened by Sep 2012 for sure. There are good chances that Jan filers till the end of 2008 also get greened. 9% numbers are being allocated every month and the pace and progress in the first 5 months is fairly impressive.

Right now it is all a matter of luck as to who's file is complete with regards all internal steps. There still a lot of people from Oct - Nov filing waiting and many from Dec filing approved, those with RFE's could have been luckier if their cases were complete. Yes your thoughts are a little optimistic lets wait and see. With the curent trend of approvals SOFAD surely is going to hit the high mark.

Default Ead

Is there a significance or logic behind a 1 yr or a 2yr EAD/AP card? What defines the time period? Why cant they issue a 2yr valid card to me?
