Dear All,

Greetings!! I am glad to see continued interest in the predictions and calculations ... it helps a lot while waiting as a psychological relief and provides a sense of control in this process...

But, I would like to request all here to join in the IV effort for ensuring that CIR passes with all relevant provisions... We can make a real impact now to end this ridiculous waiting game...let's bring it home!!

Please contribute what you can ...

Thankyou Udaykiran82.
Was wondering if those #s are based on PD? or when the 485 was applied?
Not sure how to read, say my PD is dec 2005 in the bucket below (is the red bold one)?

I don't know your answer to your question. If you compare may 2010 for EB2, it looks like 5 people got their GC. LIFO ... Lucky one ... I might be wrong in guessing it. http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/im...es/biggrin.gif

udaykiran82 - the number in the cells represent the number of pending I-485 applications filed, qualified, processed and awaiting visa number from DoS. If you look at EB1-I, then there are two applications with PD of JAN-2005 awaiting a visa number assignment from DoS. There is no other application from 2005 awaiting visa number assignment according to the pdf.

If the FY2012 spillover is actively being applied, then this new data is mildly discouraging. If no or some spillover has been applied so far (and I think that's the case), then this is a pretty good one. We should see the PD for September bulletin move to 1-JAN-2007 (covering everyone with PD before 2007). With a bit more number crunching, one of you may convince me that it can move to mid-2007.

Are you looking at EB1 (it says 1st preference) and your signature shows as EB2 (for your red highlight).

Also do we know if the spillover has already been applied or is the spillover (from FB side) will be for the last quarter?

What we need is a report from USCIS or State on the usage of the GC for the year. May be we can petition the WH on this one. A quarterly report like what USCIS provides on the 485 for example is what we need.

Or may be CO will show his hand to AILA and put us out of this misery

It's more than obvious that NO spillover has been applied till this report, that is early April. The pending nos. for EB2-I has not changed at all from last 485 report to this one.

Indeed this is good news inventory report.

EB3-I has cleared 2030 pending numbers between Jan and April. So in 3 months, they've been allocated ~700 visas but the demand has gone down almost 3 times that number. The other 1330 must have ported or been some form of double counting. Given a 70-30 split between porting and double counting, demand destruction etc, that leaves us with ~1,000 numbers moving from EB3-I to EB2-I in that span (I'm discounting the fact that some can and do move to EB1-I...its hard to see how many those can be...if they are, they're probably people who've returned to India in one of the recessionary periods and have found employment that can justify EB1-I porting now).

Add that 1k from EB3-I to EB2-I...and the picture becomes clearer.
Inventory as of Jan 3rd: 42,585
Inventory as of Apr 2nd: 42,978
Change : +393
Porting (estimated) : 1,000
New change : -607

That is much closer to the 700 visas issued in a quarter. Meaning no spillover has been applied.

As for where does EB3-I land, its tough going for some more time. There is over 2k in demand for the PD that's current at this time. If your PD is in the latter half of 2003 or later, then you should port if the opportunity to do so exists. If you're within 6 months of the current date, then staying put might make sense. The dense regions are almost out of the way when spillover gets applied and you'll start to see some good VBs in FY 2014.

In looking at these numbers for a while now, one thing has been clear to me...and it probably is why there is little historic action (in terms of legislative relief) on EB immigration reform. While EB-2 and EB-3 are generally fine for most countries, its backlogged for a large pool of the applicants. If you put a color-coded map indicating countries that are current vs countries that aren't, you'll see a small swath in the latter. If you flip the color-coding to where people are originating from, then the story becomes pre-dominantly an issue for one country only - India. 43k out of the 62k in EB2 and 43k out of the 56k in EB3 are applicants from India....that's 86k out of the 118k from one country, and in severe backlog. While the overall system is broken, its severely so for India right now.

Good Analysis for EB3 India by someone in a long time I have seen.

If we can get even 1 bill like recapture or country limit removal passed, EB3 India will get a life line. Otherwise we have no hope.
