Default senators

Hi Brahmam,

Do you know how to contact the senators? What is the process? Can you provide some sample letter?

About my case:
I am current as of July bulletin. Contacted USCIS and opend SR on 6th and again contacted yesterday (18th). Both the time they mentioned that my case is pre-adjudicated.
Just clueless

Your help is appriciated.

got 3 emails - first one card prod ordered, then in another hour, decision, and in another hour, card production ordered mail was back again. Hopefully this mail thing will stop there.

so gotta wait for the actual cards then. will not celebrate until then cuz wife does not want to. We were very close to getting this 5 yrs back but missed out because of a villain in my life.

I had opened an SR on 07/08 and as of 07/15, there was no action on that - I asked the USCIS level 2 person last friday and she said, it's only been a week since your SR, so call back after some more time. apparently, they have a 2 week window for the officer to respond to an SR by when someone will look at your case.

so, everyone waiting out there, strongly recommend the SR approach. if it does not work, then go through the senators. I had shot off my letter to the senator yesterday but luckily got the approval emails by evening. Maybe a whiff of the Senator scared the TSC system.
LOL.

good luck to everyone else waiting.

I got RFE on July 1 and responded to RFE on employment verification letter last week (PD Dec 2006). Current status shows RFE response review. When can I expect my approval? Should I open a SR or wait for the approval? Please help me.

Hey bud,

You will hear from them soon, dont worry. But that's easier said than done.

Re: Senators. Look up for the 2 US senators from your state. google up their office, call them and tell them you need help with your I-485 / AOS application with USCIS. they will ask you to fax them the details. Write up a small letter, not too much drama or anything just saying I need your help with the processing, been waiting for 4 years. Do not talk about the dates being current etc. they dont understand and they may not even care. Just mention when you filed for your 485 and how long the wait has been. Send photo copies of your 485s along with that fax letter. I dont know if this will work cuz I did not have to wait on their action but my guess is that it will work. When a Senator's office contacts USCIS, they are bound to respond.

GC_Info has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default I am greened

Last night the lights were off due to heavy rain.
I still went ahead to check my mails. When I opened my mail box.
I found just one envelope. It looked blue and seems to be an important one.
I took it and flipped it this way and that way. Lightening flashed. I looked around.
I couldn't see any thing. For a movement I thought that lights are back.
Well I tried opening the envelope not bothered by the darkness.
The envelope fell down. There was another lightening.
I could hardly see the envelope on the floor. So, I picked it up and cleaned it from dirt.
I could see few people chatting outside their home. They were very curious of what I am upto. So, I hastely opened my envelope. I was in utter disbelief as my eyes were wide open and radiating. I smiled with my teeth wide open. People were in utter disbelief with the sparks from teeth as I keep my teeth very clean. They were radiating with brigt green color. I heard somebody saying "ooh". There it is a small piece of card that looked like american express green card. I felt so liberated that I started jumping on the puddles. My neighbors still couldn't believe what they are seeing. Next day my neighbours came and checked out to see if I am ok.
That is my experience and sweet memory to share with you. Hope you enjoyed it.

I received approval notice on July 16th and received the Biometric on July 18th.
Is this Normal?
Do I need to worry for my approval?

Had to switch the job once in 2010. No AC21filed.
Got welcome notice yesterday in the mail box. No physical cards yet but notice says I should get it within 3 weeks time.

Thanks!

2. Medical: if you missed the TB test and went for x-ray directly when you filed then it might be for the that test. Or some other missing vaccinations. Mostly for the spouse. Think of going to the local community hospital and get the PPD done. They do it for free. It may take couple of days and you will get the letter from them with the results. And then go to the surgeon where you did the medical and then have them fill the new form with the PPD info. That will save some time for you.
3. Birth Certificate: Few people filed I485 in 2007 without BCs since they did not have them from India. If you did not send it that time then have the copies ready. Can be for all applicants.

If you can respond asap then you should receive GC within couple of weeks.

Hope this helps.
Thanks ! Very helpful. Will update once I get the letter.

Default Card received with priority date as resident date

Received my card along with the approval notice. Had received approval mail on Sunday (7/17/2011).
To my surprise, card says resident since 12/13/2006 which is my priority date.
For my wife it says resident since 07/13/20111 which is approval date of the I-485.
One off the line question which I need to do some research on, when I can apply for citizenship ? is it 5 years from my priority date as card says resident since 12/13/2006 or 5 years from the possession date which is 7/13/2011.

I spoke with L2 IO last week after my case was approved about card production. She asked me how many times I have been asked for biometrics. I told her 3 times and the last one was on March 9th 2011, and my biometrics should be current. She replied thatís right and she could see my all 3 attendance. She said everything looks good and donít know why the card was not ordered. She spends some time on my case and finally found that biometric files are not attached to the case. She mentioned that this is due to a technical glitch. Again I asked her whether there is any action on me to get the biometric done and she said no, action is on USCIS to download the file and attach to your case. She asked me to wait for 3-4 weeks for the card to be issued and call them back if I donít get my card.

She said, there is no pending FP request or other issues, and my current FP only expires in September this year. She reiterated that as long as they have a valid FP, there shouldn't be an issue ordering a card. I asked whether she can expedite the process, but she said I have to wait for at least 30 days.

My biggest question now is, how do they have a valid FP when me and my wife did not give one to USCIS lately? We traveled abroad last year, and an FP was taken at the POE. Does USCIS consider that as a valid FP?

At this point I have no other choice than waiting.

Don't have to worry. It’s normal. Your bio is not current or USCIS is not able to download your biometric and attach to your GC file if your bio is not expired (that's what happened with me). You will get your card only after biometric is done.

Got the approval notice and cards in the mail on Saturday July 16,2011
The card says resident since 07-11-11 although my approval notice is July 13th, go figure...
Details if anyone is interested
F1 2003-2005
OPt 2005-2006
H1B- 2006 to jun 2011
Same job.
1 RFE in I-140 stage, lawyer screwed up and didn't send in my diploma copy.
Self filed i-485 in July 2007
Processing center :NSC
Did NOT open SR or contact Senator.
I think 7 working days to get a green card I waited 5 years for is ok.
