Default Impact of promotion on existing GC application

Hello all,
My company is considering to promote me from my senior software engineer position to IT manager. New job will have 60% same job responsibilities that my current position has and 40% managerial tasks with few developers reporting to me.

My GC was filed under EB-3(India) with 2005 PD. I'm not on EAD though I have EAD.
EB-3 was filed on Senior Software engineer job title. I heard "Manager" titles fall in different USCIS codes categories and may require a new Labor filing. Has anyone gone through this situation? Will this promotion impact the EB-3 application? Is it too risky to take this opportunity. I'm also asking my employer for a new EB-2 filing with new title - but it is still under discussions. Any insights are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default Go for it

I was in similar situation. I didn't think twice to accept the promotion. Remember the GC is for future job and not what you have right now. Also, given your PD, it should help justify if you want to move over to EB 2 as well.

I really don't think there is any sense in letting the GC process rule your life or career. Just my perspective..

This is my experience:
I was a in similar situation too. I did accept the promotion and our company lawyer did not suggest to amend the H1B.
I later ported my GC from EB3 to EB2 and got it approved with out any issues.

Default Yup...go for it

Same situation...same PD as yours...started the porting process as soon as the promotion was done...no issues at all!
