Default EB3 to EB2 PORTING SUCESSFUL IN 10 MONTHS

Finally received GC after 10 years of wait.
Ported to EB2 and it just took 10 months from first day of starting process ( including preparation, adverstise etc and 6 months from filing labor. ( No premium processing).
Seems like USCIA also realize EB3 pain and is lineant and quick to clear porting cases.

EB3-I guys, whoever can port , please do . This will help to empty EB3-I queue.

All the best to guys who are porting to EB2. !!!!

Default Congrats!!

Congratulations. I agree with sac-r-ten. Either USCIS/DOL doesnt care about EB3-I pain.
FYI.. I am trying from last 3 years, still waiting for labor approval.

Thanks,
Brawn.

Thanks everyone.
May be USCIS /DOL does not care about EB3-I . But point is if no technical issue for porting EB2, it is not slow process. Also, if you have filed EB3 8- 10 years back, most files are pre approved ( I heard) and USCIS is simply waiting for GC number. Mostly I-140 and I-485 gets cleared on same day. So for whomever porting is possible, please do.
That will help not only you but also other EB3-I unfortunate guys by reducing queue.

dts and others,

I have filed my I-485 in 2007 and my spouse's I-485 is not filed. Is it possible to file I-485 for my spouse on the basis that primary applicant had filed I-485 or do I have to wait till the PD becomes current?

Thanks

you were just "unlucky" to be waiting for this porting for a long time. Me with Mar 2005 date, done with the labor for may be in one year in, but waited till Aug 2013 to be current and got it on Nov 25.

dts,

Thanks for sharing your experience. This should certainly encourage more people to port to EB2.

I do not see any legislation relief happening in the next 10 years or so. Poring and other means are the only way to get around this massive backlog in EB3.

Maybe the reduction influx of new applications in all categories will help also to reduce the overall backlog.

I have EB3/Oct PD and have been dilly-dally'ing for the last few years whether to port or not. Posts like yours should help/encourage.

Default You are really lucky, I'm not

I'm also on the same boat, but not lucky!!!

EB3 filing in Sep 2004

EB3 to EB2 porting started in Apr 2012, I-140(recaptured the original PD) got approved in Dec 2012.

Priority date got current in Aug 2013. But, so far no luck. See my posting here: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/fo...ml#post3580469 (EB3->EB2, Priority date is current, but there is no case update)

Hello DTS,

Congrats. Could you tell if this porting was done with the same employer who filed your original EB3 or different employer.

Regards
