I-140 - Affidavit of experience letters from previous employers
I am gathering work experience letters from my previous employers for my I-140 application. I have 4 of them to satisfy 5 years of progressive experience. Out of 4, I am able to get the letter in company letterhead only for 2. One employer is saying they don’t provide this kind of letter with roles and responsibilities and technologies/skills mentioned in it, as per their policy. The other employer is not operational anymore. So my attorney suggested to get affidavit from my former managers or colleagues to supplement these letters. I can manage both the affidavits from my respective supervisors.
I have two questions/concerns:
1. Is there a chance of RFE or rejection as 2 of them are on letterhead and 2 are affidavit? Does USCIS give enough value to affidavit as compared to the one on letterhead? Has anybody had similar situation?
2. In the affidavit there is a sentence at the end saying ‘Having directly worked with [MyName], I am able to confirm the job duties and employment capacity (basically the duties I performed and technologies that I used back then) as described in this letter’. Will it be beneficial to change the wording and emphasize on the fact that it came from my supervisor not just a colleague? I am thinking something like below:
‘Having directly supervised [MyName], I am able to confirm the job duties and employment capacity as described in this letter’.
Kindly advise me with your thoughts and experience. Thanks a lot in advance.
