How to obtain the Birth Certificate from the Indian consulate in the USA.Even though you have a letter stating from your parents regarding the birth date etc and notarised...i beleive you have to obtain one from consulate also...Any ideas on this matter.
Thanks

Birth certificates from consulate have worked in some cases and not in others (per posts on immigrationportal.com). I think you should get a certificate from Municipal corporation from city/town of your Birth stating that they do not have any records of your birth. If you do not have relatives who can promptly get this document and rush mail to you - you may want to try www.yourmaninindia.com for a paid service.

Good luck and act fast!

Default what happens

What happens if one files without birth certificate? Can it result in denial instead of RFE? Any way depending on the PD people will get GCs only after 4 or 5 years only .

My personal opinion is to file for 485 ASAP and face RFEs as they come ... any other opinions guys?

Default What about long form?

Most birth certificates from india are not in the right format. Are they acceptable? i have a birth certificate from the local municipality. It lists my father's name and date of birth and so on.

Default Birth Certificate.

As nfinity said, most of the indian birth certificates are not in the proper format. it has fathers name, mother name but not the childs name. So, what does one need to do in those cases. If anyone can put some light on this topic it will be really great.

Default Is a recently issued Birth Certificate valid?

My birth certificate was issued in 2006, but of course I was born many decades before that. Will this be a problem during 485 stage? The certificate clearly mentions the date of issuance as 10-2-2006 in bold letters.

Has anybody heard of a similar case of belatedly issued birth certificate, and if yes, was such certificate accepted or rejected? Please let me know.
