That's correct. Only CPO email on 09/01. Today (09/08) both Welcome Notices and Green Cards by mail. I didn't expect USCIS will deliver GCs this fast:-)

Default need to carry GC

It is legally required to carry GC all the times, but is that what people do? What are the pros and cons? Can anyone clarify.

Default Received I-485 Approval Notice ...

My wife and my cases were approved on 9/1, received approved notices today (9/8). However, it says ... "The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/fingerprint/signature). Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear."

is this normal? Have anyone of you received similar letter?

Technically you have to, but think w/ common sense. Unless you are visiting places of importance or that require status verification their is no sense in carrying around ur card all the time. For instance, if you are traveling out of town and could involve rendevous to secured areas such as border, or travel thru foreing land etc., you must carry GC just like passport. Otherwise, if you are only going to local grocery store for weekly shopping, no need.

Default congrats

Congrats Inshkrish,
Now your journey has really come to end...dunno how you will spend your idle time now...(meaning checking IV and thinking about getting the coveted mail)...

You folks have received the CPO mail on 09/01 and also your cases were straight forward meaning not a transfer case....

Mine was WAC and i had received the email approval notice on 09/04.....but i am thinking may be there could be a biometrics issue....my wife's is still pending...we have taken an infopass t'row.....let's see what new things we learn...

Congrats again...and frame the cards and hang it in your bedroom...
