Default Question about Driver's license

I moved from one state to another due to a job change and my H1 with the new company is still in process. I was on H1 at the old company as well. My old H1, I think has already been cancelled by my ex-employer. I joined the new company after I received the receipt and am still waiting for my H1 and its been 5 months. When I applied for my driver's license in the new state, they wanted my immigration documents and since my old H1 has been cancelled, the DMV says that my immigration documents have expired. Is it possible to get a new/temporary license with the H1 receipt or do I have to wait for my H1 approval to come through to get my license in the new state?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Ganesh

Default Original H1B receipt guarantees 8 months DL

One of my friend in NJ, got the DL extended by 8 months, with the original H1B Receipt along with other supporting documents. Talk to the DMV supervisor, he should know about it.

Default Talk to DMV Supervisor

You should provide more info.

In evey where they had issues.

You can get temporary DL by showing proof that you applied for H1B extension etc.
Take out all H1B related documents to DMV.
