Default I-94 on H1 approval or I-94 in passport when leaving USA

I am flying from US to India. Which I94 stub should I give to the ticket agent? The one attached in passport or one on my H1 approval?

Thanks.

Default Both I-94's will have same number

Both I-94's will have same number.

Giving one of them will also have your departure recorded.

But if i were you, i would give both.

Thanks,
Krishna

Default I-94 and renewed I-94s from I-797

Always, I make a copy of I-94 from I-797 (renewed/transferred) notice and keep it with I-94 in Passport. I give this set when I leave US. I have done this in every transfer and renewals. Entered to USA without any issues.

FYI: I-94 from passport shoudl be enough - but, I give copy of renewed one to just make sure we did not overstay illegally.

It will not be same number all the time. I entered twice after getting my extension stamping and both times it was a new I-94, I had already surrendered the I-94 on the h1 extension when I left the first time.

In looivy's case it should be the same number as he/she got extension while he/she was in US

Your (gcseeker2002)'s case is different , you travelled outside of the country and got a new I-94 (number) each time.

If i were looivy, i would make a photocopy of I-797 with I-94 and submit both I-94's at departure.

i have traveled at least 7 or 8 times under my H1 visa and every time I gave them the I-94 stapeled to my passport only, not the I-94 with I-797 form. I never had any problem anywhere reentering.

Default Latest I-94

You should be giving the latest I-94 you have received and in this case its the I-94 you received as part of your I-797.

I stapled both I-94s together and handed them to the agent. As always keep copies for your records.
