Default Another question on EB2 with Deloitte

Folks,

On the outset, thanks a bunch for your responses.
I have an offer with Deloitte as well ( but I have accepted it, but was not really aware of their restrictive immigration policies ). The recruiter pretty much sweet talked me into accepting the offer - I should have known .

My question is about Deloitte's immigration policies in regards to the role. I am joining the firm as a Specialist Senior. The reviews that I have seen everywhere are mostly for that of the primary track ( consultant, senior consultant, manager etc ).

Does this matter with the particular role I have? I mean, would they even consider filing on EB2 with the role that I am in?
Just wanted a heads up so that I can start looking for other opportunities .

Thanks again.

Depends on the Company Policies, talk with your Immediate manager and HR.
I heard that Capgemini for example does not DO EB2 unless you are at manager or above level. (even Senior Consultants with >5 years of Experience are under EB3)

I am looking for employers who does EB2 not EB3. The employers I interviewed with are mostly prefering EAD's or they say they will do in EB3. When I came across this thread I thought well I may ask you the employer who does EB2. If you dont mind can you please PM me the employer you mentioned who said he will do in EB2.

I appreciate it
Thank You

fragomen in my personal experience delays the paperwork for long, they are good for ROW but not at all advisable for retrogressed countries.

deloitte is too big for such manveuring. Find a smaller company, you might have to take a little pay cut but will be worth it in long run.

Default No

Deloitte will only do EB2 if you are a manager or Specialist Master or above. In addition, you need 2 out of past 3 years of very strong performance ratings in order to qualify for porting to EB2.

Agreed with most comments about Deloitte. I'm a Deloitter myself, and is leaving the firm soon. In fact, I've told the firm about the intention to leave - probably not the smartest thing now that I face the risk of having my I-140 revoked immediately after my last day (which is not even set yet), and leaves things to chance that my H1B re-petition with new employer is denied. I don't know Deloitte/Fragomen's policy on revoking I-140 after employment relationship is terminated.

Any thoughts from fellow Deloitte insiders?

Default Deloitte is probably the worst firm for Green Card sponsorship

Simply because of their law firm Fragomen. I was with Deloitte for 5 years and they didn't even get to the I-140 filing stage.

As a result, I'm still in line, waiting for my PD to become current, when I should have been done with the GC process 3 years ago.

Default Agreement

Deloitte also makes you sign an agreement that you will stick with them for 5 years after starting the GC process..

Could they sue if you quit Deloitte after initiating GC ?

My attorney say they could actually sue... but I doubt they would. On the other hand, that IS an agreement... so, if I sign, then I actually do intend to pay back. and I did... I left before I got my GC (in my case, the agreement is for 2 years after I get my GC) but after I get my I-140. and I paid up. In fact, it was paid out of my last paycheck. They actually ask you for the fund before your last day, or ask if you just want the fund deducted from your PTO pay/last paycheck. Hope that helps.

Unhappy Deloitte and Green Card

Deloitte may be a decent place to begin a career, but it is possibly one of the worst places to begin immigration efforts to the US. Incompetent immigration counsel (Fragomen), an Assistant General Jerk...I mean Assistant General Counsel that treats Indians like blacks were treated pre-civil rights, and in general, a horrible horrible place for Green Card sponsorship.

Nothing against Deloitte. But all companies more or less similar. Best advise for my friends, not to sing anything , don't compromise on GC, leave before the 4th year kicks in. And negotiate and ask good friends (not coworkers as they can misguide due to competition). also words and face value have little world in office environments when it comes to official communication and money)

Default But Deloitte is the worst

Again, great place to start a career, but worst place to start the US Green Card process.

Question Anyone else have problems with Deloitte processing of their Green Card?

If their Assistant General Counsel is simply condoning incompetent handling of Fragomen, we need to warn aspiring immigrants about pursuing careers at Deloitte.

Default one size doesn't fit all

This pretty dumb question about salary without even posting which skill set/job /role/city you are looking for. It varies hugely based the above anywhere between 80 K to 130 K
