Default F1 to H4 and again to F1 ....Changing University

My wife has F1 visa but due to some reasons she has to discontinue from the program effective April 2011 end. She is trying for another program in different university. This program may start in Sept 2011. I am on H1 and she has valid H4 approved petition.
In this case should I change her F1 to H4 and then again apply for F1 with new university. Pls advice. If anyone has done this pls detail out pros and cons of continuing with F1 against going thru H4 and then again changing to F1. I also donot want earlier university to know her future university details. Which is best way to go? We are not expecting any credit transfer.
