Default Full time (W2) and Part time (1099) possible?

I'm an employee full time with a fortune 500 company (W2). Is it ok to take another part time job (1099) say as an IT recruiter?

I got my GC last year.

Once you have your GC, you are a free bird. In my opinion you can go in for a 2nd part/full time job. The 2nd job can also be on W2. It is not necessary that you have to do the 2nd job on 1099.

I don't think you can have a 2nd job when you are on EAD. However, I am not sure about it. Please consult an attorney for this and/or request other Gurus on IV to get the right answer.

Yes. I don't see any reason you can't work multiple jobs while in EAD. it is legal.

Mr Amman you did not give an explanation why it is legal to work two jobs on EAD.
Working on EAD is completely different than a GC.
USCIS allows you to change a job after 180 days but when (IF) called for an interview
one has to furnish a job with the same description and salary on a W2.
One must not work on 1099 part/full time as per the rules of USCIS on changing a job.
