Default Paper based EAD application lost in mail

It seems that paper based EAD application lost in mail. It was certified mail with return receipt. It has been two weeks and not reached USCIS.

How to apply again? What if both application reaches USCIS? Is there any thread related to this issue?

Contact USPS and trace it before you plan on sending the documents again to USCIS.

Dhundhun,

Same thing happened to me few months back with some other imp doc I sent by USPS. My local USPS called the destination USPS office and enquired about the package. The destination USPS did not have it and said that if it is unreachable or undelivered then I should get it back. But they said that it will take lot of time to get it back. I was very worried and lost all my hopes about that doc. Meanwhile I changed my address to some other state. Suddenly one day, after more than one month that package arrived in my mailbox and I was relieved. So what I think is you should send all the docs again with cover letter stating what happened and if they get original one please neglect that OR wait for few weeks, if the renewal is not very urgent and see what happens.

This is my opinion. Other please feel free to disagree with me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

USPS has no concept of tracing certified mail. It has just received by receiving party or not. This information is maintained by receiving post office or returned to sender if return receipt is attached.

The local post master can not provide any help.

Hi Dhundhun,

Which address did you use for destination? Did you by any chance use the address for the express/courier delivery ?

~~~ bump ~~~
If any one has experience of application sent to USCIS lost in transit (by USPS). Mail lost is not real issue - application can be sent again - what if first appliaction also reaches alongwith the second one.
USCIS directive prohibits sending application in duplicate - hence the concern. On web surfing, I find USPS mails reaching destination sometimes in months (chantu also posted above his experience: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/sh...550#post259550).
Thanks in advance
