Default Alien Registration Number different on approved I-140 and 485 ...Urgent Pls help!!

Hello Gurus I have following scenario

PD:- 16th June 2006 (EB2)
Labor Approved:- 26th Oct 2006.
I-140:- Filed with PP on 27th Dec 2006. Got approved 13th March 2007
I-485:- Filed on 3rd July 2007. Still in Pending
EAD:- Filed on 3rd July 2007. Got approved on 5th Oct 2007(one yr valid)
AP:- Filed on 3rd July 2007. Got approved on 17th Oct 2007(one yr valid)
H1-B Valid till May 2010.

Now I am trying to renew my EAD and AP for 2008 using automated online system and while filling in forms I found that I would need a ALIEN number (A#) to apply for my EAD and AP. While checking my documents I found that my 485/EAD/AP has one Alien number(A#) while my I-140 has a different Alien number. I was wondering

a) If I should be worried abt different A# on 140 and 485 application. So i need to talk to USICS ??.. Is it Messy??
b) Also while filing my EAD and AP renewal should I use my 485's A# or 140 A# number.??

Pls help.. and thanks for your response in advance.

Even I have different Alien #s on 140 and 485, while applying for AP, I used the one on 485 as AP and EAD are attached to 485.

You better call the service center directly and fix this issue. A#'s should be
consistent across all applications.

It is akin to one social security number per person.

I had read somewhere that there were issues adjudicating and linking an I-140 to an I-485 for the person who had inconsistent A#'s.

Default Multiple A# should not be an issue

My wife got 3 A#s but I went by the A# on I-485

also read this, multiple numbers should not be a problem.

Hi,

My case is a little different. The A numbers given in I-765 and I-131 receipts are same but the A number given in I-485 receipt is different. What should I do and which A number should use while applying for EAD renewal?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks you so much for your quick help .... you guys rock!!

So we conclude as given on Murhty.com that all the applicants who applied their 485 between July 07 and Aug 07 will have different A#.

And while applying to all the new renewal of EAD and AP. We should use the new A# from 485.

But make sure that your 485/EAD/AP A# numbers should be the same. Otherwsie it could be a problem.

Most of the time when your I-140 is getting approved.. on your approval notice you will see A# rite above your Name or rather under BENEFICIARY section.

But some where I read that some times .. you may not have the number with I-140 approval notice.. so if you don't have that number on your I-140 don't worry... look for that number under I-485/EAD/AP approval notice..

Good Luck!!

Default My I140 receipt and approval notice does not have A#

Neither my I140 approval notice nor my I140 receipt notice has a A# on it. In this situation how do I find out if the A# on the 140 and 485 are the same. How do I find out what is the I140 A#
