Default AOS to CP Switch

Since a long time, I was thinking of asking you this question.
My PD is Dec 05 EB2-I. My home consulate is Hyderabad/Chennai. I filed my I485 during July 07 fiasco and now I lost hope on CIS. I feel strongly sometime before this Sept my PD would become Current.

Here comes my question,
If I want to switch to CP what is process and How long it will take, and how much it cost ? (I know the impact of this, I might lose my EAD and AP and I am fine with this as I am still on my H1B)

What are your thoughts on this

Thank you.

When did you filed your I-485? EB2 was not current on 1/1/2007.

Default AOS to CP

Check Ron Gotcher's website. He has written extensively about the procedure. http://immigration-information.com/forums/index.php

It is not necessary for applicants to withdraw their pending adjustment applications. Similarly, they need not give up their EAD cards or their advance parole. It will be necessary for them to withdraw their adjustment applications after they receive immigrant visas and return as lawful permanent residents.
Does that mean we can continue to avail the benefits of AOS
(EAD, AP) and still have our application ready for processing at consular post ?

( AOS and CP at the same time )
