Default Can IV inquire why Nebraska is processing I-485 so slowly

Can IV inquire why Nebraska is processing I-485 so slowly? They advertise 4 months and they have not processed any August EB2-India application for those that are current.

Thanks.

To fix a process related problem we will need to have a lot of our membership suffering from it and supporting the effort. And then we can take it up to its logical conclusion. For individual cases we need to have the member be a current monthly subscriber for last 6 months. We kept this condition to ensure we take up only cases where the person is a dedicated IV member and has lost hope from the other usual avenues like lawyers, local lawmaker offices, service requests etc.

Pappu - I have contributed $200+ in the past to IV. I am pretty sure that it is a systematic issue. I request others to come forward so that IV can get visibility into the count of those that are suffering.

They seem to be approving June which makes it 7+ months. So the delay would be 3+ months.

As per lawyer the times posted are average times. So some will get it sooner and some later. Anyways its not FIFO anywhere due to complex nature of approval process.

So in my opinion 3 month delay is too small a fly to be concerned when there is a decades long wait for people. You will also find yourself alone fighting for it. I have seen many times in the past for such small delays affecting people. As soon as their application is approved they disappear. Nobody wants to fix the problem for everyone. The support you will get is also going to be tiny. Its the same for AP EAD processing and Visa stamping delays. Lets just focus on the delays due to backlogs cased by less greencards available each year for people in certain categories.

I have been waiting for a decade as well with a 2004 EB3-I PD. I am in no way saying that IV should drop the ball on the other fights. All, I am asking is that IV should use their liaison and relationships to inform USCSI that I-485 processing has been very slow.

Don't just use an absolute number of 3+months as the basis. There are also many EB2-I folks who have been waiting for 12+ months. This is a systematic issue. USCIS advertises 4+months and have processing delays much greater than that. It is a simple administrative and processing concern that IV needs to raise to USCIS.

Also, are you an IV representative?

While I do not speak for IV, it will be unfair asking to push for specific case. All of us have some or the other delay. There are people waiting for years. If IV starts to pick up cases like this then start with someone waiting the longest. Do you not think there are people who are waiting longer than you and have priority date before you? Don't get me wrong, I am sure you don't want unfair advantage over others.

I also contributed to IV => towards advocacy with Congress i.e. to change the law, not towards individual cases. For individual cases we pay thousands of dollars to lawyers. Should your lawyer not use his liaison and relationships to work on your application with USCIS? No offense intended towards you or anyone else but this is my opinion.

I was saying that you will hardly find anyone interested in your issue. And whoever joins you will leave you as soon as their application is approved. I am saying this from my experience with EAD/AP delays when I wanted to fight it. People will not even return your emails and calls. They will refuse to talk to you saying they are busy. They will not contribute anything when asked. They will have all kinds of excuses. But if their EAD is denied/they lose job because of the delay, they will want to talk to you because you are taking a lead on IV forum for an issue so you 'might' be knowing IV core. So funny. This is how the public is. And in your case it is 485 processing for people who are current. Typically these people disappear from IV as soon as they are current and only want to track. They start getting arrogant and some become anti-non greencard holders after getting the greencard. You also must have seen that on other websites. So trying to get those people busy with tracking to work with you on delays will be a big challenge for you. Just saying.

I am not an IV representative. But I certainly want to work for USCIS when I get my greencard and make greencard process just a 1 week process end to end with no lawyer and employer involved. Please wish me good luck.

Good luck buddy. I think you need citizenship for working for USCIS. I pray for them to fast track your GC as well as Citizenship application.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do says, 4 months for Nebraska and 8 months for Texas.

The only thing for speeding up the process seems to be an Infopass appointment. Nothing else works. That's what I heard.

I would request all stakeholders to visit or contribute towards the IV advocacy event in DC. I recently got greened but I am still joining (flights booked) for the larger cause.
