Angry my employer is not giving me GC related documents

Hi All
I have received my EAD in Sep 07 and want to use ac21 to work on EAD. But my current employer has told me that they will not give me the original I140 and I485 documents. They have already emailed me the photocopies earlier

Does anyone know if originals are required? or can i force them to give me the originals?

thanks

I-140 belongs to the employer. I-485 is yours.
