Dhundhun,
Thank you very much for the reply. If the trend continues Sep'06 will be current in a few months, hence I am trying to find contingencies.
If the addition of derivatives within 6 months of GC approval is true, can one get the spouse into this country on a H-4 ? (My H visa is still valid).

US Consulate Mumbai has the following information posted for H4:

http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/h4_and_l2_visas.html

My understanding is that there should not be problem in getting H4, if all the document requirements are met. Refer to US Consulate website, your spouse has to go.

however note that the marriage itself HAS to occur before the I-485 for the primary is approved. If your 485 is approved while you are single, you cannot add your spouse as a derivative applicant.
