Question TB scars

Hi !!!

i was suffered fm TB long time back around 5 yrs back .... i am scared whether due to this reason my I-485 gonna be rejected. I already went trought the full 9 months medication at that time and been fully cures as my own mamaji was a TB specialist.

Can someone suggest me if they have gone through the same case. And if i need any documents to let them know that i am fully cured because my X-ray shows that spot/scars which says that i had TB and my mamaji told me that the scars will never go because of the medcation thing?? Please help

dont worry about it. As long as you can prove that you have been treated/or under treatment, this will not hold your application. This will increase / slightly delay your initial application , but otherwise u shouldnt have any problems

My wife has similar situation, found some scars and further so many tests (sputums, broncoscopy) done and all were negative. And as a precautionary measure, she took 9 months INH medication.

Meeting with Civil surgeon to fill out the new I693 form again with all the details as requested by USCIS via a RFE. Back in 2007 the civil surgeon just marked as abnormal xray and patient under complaint and care. So, USICS asked for the follow-up details, medication taken and a clearance from civil surgeon stating that there is no active TB and no further evaluation required.

Will keep posted. Any others in similar situation?

Don't worry. The way it works is, they have to prove that you have Active tuberculosis and you are potential patient who can cause spreading this to another person. Law is completely aware of active tuberculosis and inactive tuberculosis (for some south asians, though they don't have active TB, they still carry a past scar which would show up in the xray). In some cases, skin test comes +ve, and lungs show clear, Unless both reports concur, they cannot determine it as Active TB. I myself had gone 9 months of treatment just for the doubt they have had , they couldn't prove I have had active TB.
But, remember there is bureaucracy involved to the sickest level in immigration procedures. So be well informed, talk to lawyer in detail, have all clearance documents , proofs etc and don't take it easy. Good luck.
