Gurus,

To all those who have received the FP notices, are your I-485 dates current for Processing ? or you have received these notices after the lapsing of the earlier FP ??

I have done one FP initially when my Case was filed. Its been long since the validity of that FP has lapsed. Should i be expecting another FP notice??
Is fresh FP notice being sent to all those whose FP validity has expired? or are they doing that in a random manner ??

Please do reply.

Regards.

FP is valid for one year, you will keep getting a notice every year. it doesnt matter if your PD is not current.

Actually, they are valid for 15 months.

I did FP on Jan 06(me, wife and son). I just got an appointment last week for new FP on May.

The reason i am asking is because till about about 4-5 months back USCIS took the position that no fresh FP's would be done ,until the Processing dates are current, now suddenly i have come across some cases where FP notices are being mailed to people whose processing dates are a couple of years away from the Current ones.

Anyone with info??

Regards.

My wife and I had gone for finger print last Tuesday for the 5th time after filing I-485 around 3.5 years back. And our priority date is not current. The immigration officer said that FP expires every 15 months and the system prints out the notice after the last FP expires.

Default FP .. Just got it

My 485 is pending from almost 2 1/2 years.. Went for FP only once. So 15 months renewal thing may not be right.

I applied for EAD renewal 2 weeks back, So, i got ASC notice for EAD related FP on saturday 5/5. Today i got one more ASC notice for FP on pending i-485 scheduled for 5/11.

Default Finger Printing Notice

I got my second finger print notice. It was mailed on April 30th and appointment date is May 11th. But I will be travelling (Business trip) next week. Does anybody know if it is possible to attend in a different state. And also if I send my re-scheduling letter should it reach before my appointment date. Please share your experiences in this regard.

Thanks

nt sure abt doing it in other state. but you can reschedule it to saturday too. but make sure the reschedule reaches them before the appt (i always sent with tracking to make sure) otherwise it is like abandoning your immigration application.

In most cases you can walk in on a weekday say around 11 AM or so when the volume is low tell them that you are traveling and is it possible for them to take the fingerprints today.
I have done it 2 times. Once I went on Saturday and was refused as they had a huge crowd. I went back Wednesday and they took it.

I did that again in December last year when we had to travel to India they gave an appointment for Jan 3. Did the same and they took it.

I did the same last week for the second time.

Just go, let them do and after 10 minutes go home. There is nothing to it.

Don't eat anything for at least 12 hours before the finger printing.
(Just kidding. Just go and do it. They don't interview you or look at your documents.
