Default Transit visa for Switzerland (Swiss), using AP, expired visa in passport.

Hello,

I will be travelling to India using Swiss Airlines in November with stop-over in Zurich. I will use my AP to re-enter the US. No valid visa in the passport.

I was told by the Swiss consulate in NYC that as of September 2010, Indian nationals no longer require a transit visa to travel through any of the Swiss airports.

While I understand this, I am unsure whether this applies for travel originating from India to USA? In that case, will they honor my advance parole or look for a valid visa in the passport? This is unclear.

Any experiences going through Zurich in September?

Thanks

Thumbs up Update

I just got another response from the Swiss Consulate in NYC.

Indian citizens do not require an airport transit visa, regardless of the origin of travel. This means that USA-India-USA on AP is just fine without a transit visa from any Swiss airport.

Good news since Swiss Air tickets are so cheap nowadays :-)
