Default H1B Transfer - Question

One of the consulting company has filled H1B for me on April 4th 2012.

Suppose it gets approved and I am eligible to work as contractor starting from Oct 1st 2012.

In the mean time I get an opportunity to work as a direct employee from Company A. Can company A transfer my H1B and I work for company A instead of consulting company who initialy filled my H1b ?

I didn't get your question. If it is a H1 B transfer, why do you need to wait until oct 1? It doesn't come under the cap as you mentioned H1B transfer

Company A will have to file for a new H1. If that gets approved only then you can work for them. That too would start from Oct 1st.
