Default URGENT !! I-9 Re-Verification question

Hello Everyone -

I would appreciate your response.

My H1 is expiring on 31-Dec-13. I got my visa extension and received the document last Friday (12/20). Sometime back my employer sent me I-9 re-verification reminder and in the midst of my work, I totally forgot about it. I know that's a very foolish mistake at my end.

Now because of the year end, there is no one to execute the I-9 process in my company. Everyone is on vacation. I have reached out to the HR dept. but no one is responding.

Do you know if I will get into trouble on 1st Jan. I have my visa extension till 2016..

I guess the earliest I can get the I-9 process is on 7th Jan (Monday) as everyone is returning from work on that day.

Please let me know. Is there anything I can do from my side? Appreciate your help.

I-9 verification system is for employers and that's to ensure that the employee is legal. Since it's a visa renewal, u don't need to worry. Just send the latest extension to your HR and let them follow their process.
