I-140 online status not updated

Hello all,

My I-140 was applied on SEP 15th 2006 at NSC. On April 24 2007 my lawyer had received an approval notice and sent me a copy of approval. If I check the status of my I-140 application still it says they are processing the application.... The approval notice that the lawyer had sent me has all my details as it should matching my application! I am confused by this.

<Verbatim from on line case status>

"Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On September 15, 2006, we received this I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER and we e-mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process each kind of case in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below for current processing dates."

I am planning to use AC21 based on the lawyer provided approval notice. Is it safe to assume that my I-140 is approved or should I call USCIS to confirm my application status? Please provide your thoughts. I am hesitant to call because if that call would retaliate in a negative way!

Note: I used that approval last June to extend my H1B for 3 years and got 3 year extension.

Thanks
Raj

Have fun on New Years Eve

As long as, you have the copy of the 140 approval on hand, there is nothing to worry about. I would worry only if it says revoked :D Have fund on New Years' Eve!

Same with me too...mine applied on dec 2006 and lawyer sent the copy of approval notice in Nov 2007.

USCIS website still shows "case received and pending..."

Lawyer said nothing to worry as the uscis webiste is not updated always for all cases.
