In response to a successful campaign by Immigration Voice members, to streamline security screening processes for foreign scientists, DHS improves the Visa Mantis process. DHS communicated with Immigration Voice about this recently streamlined process that reduced the wait times for visa stamping at foreign consulates to 2 weeks.

The issue of delayed visa processing had affected a lot of Immigration Voice members who had gone to their home country for visa stamping and were eventually stuck for extended periods of time due to background checks. Since the beginning of the year, Immigration Voice consistently communicated these concerns to DHS. The issue had been a fairly complex one, given the number of federal agencies and departments involved in the Visa Mantis process. However, DHS took the lead in fixing this issue for the high skilled community.

Immigration Voice remains committed to proactively advocating for awareness and solutions to the issues that the high skilled community faces.
